Delgoran Refugees

We ran, what else could we do? The darkness, and the madness that came with it, was spreading and there was no way to fight it. No way to stop it. If we hadn't run, we would be dead, or worse, one of those...things. Demons, monsters, whatever you call them, some of them were our people once. Our family, our friends. Now twisted and corrupted into bloodthirsty creatures. No-one deserves a fate like that. So, we ran, and this is our home now. We will never forget what, and who, we left behind, but we live to fight another day and perhaps, one day, we will reclaim Delgorad.

Delgorad is dead. How could we ever hope to recover what was lost? Without Rii'Kuna it is impossible. It would be a mockery of the beauty we once had. No, I will never return there.

Flight for Survival

When Delgorad fell, chaos and confusion spread like wildfire. Many had no warning, no time to flee, but those who did found new lives and homes within their neighbouring countries. Some travelled further, unwilling to stay close to their homeland and the constant reminder of their loss and heartbreak. Terrified, in shock and mourning, many travelled and remained in small groups, establishing small pockets of communities across Vaskana, Edrenell, Miraki and Daenara.
Opinions are divided amongst the refugees concerning the recovery of Delgorad. Some long to return, clinging to a hope that it will be possible to restore their homeland, while others choose to focus on their future outside of Delgorad, declaring it lost forever. Those who are hopeful invariably join the forces that fight along the borders in the Defence.
Adjusting to new cultures, languages, and establishing new homes has been no small challenge. It has been a slow process for all refugees to settle, even if some view it as only temporary. At first they were given makeshift homes as camps were set up in open fields and over hills while arrangements were made for more permanent places for them to live and work. More often than not, they found places in villages and towns which had been struggling after people had left to join the war effort.
