Golden Ale

Golden ale is a popluar Jaquean beverage served at almost every event. Despite the name, it is non-alchoholic and safe for children.

Manufacturing process

The process of making golden ale is relatively simple. The fruit is chopped, blended, ground, and mixed with water to create the base liquid. The required amount of sugar is added while the fruit is ground and the preservative, sodium benzoate, is added after the water has been mixed in. If other ingredients are used, they are added during either the grinding or preserving process.

History

When the first settlers landed on Jaque and began building towns and cities, they searched for plants to make their own food and drink as a way to become self-dependant. One of the first they found was a tree with fruit similar to apples, but saltier in taste. Using the same processes that other planets did to make apple juice, the settlers were able to create their own beverage from the fruit, which they named gollens. The drink was called golden ale for its color and became a staple of Jaquean food.

Over the years since its creation, golden ale has spread all over Jaque. Although the common people rarely drink it often, nobles serve it at most evening meals and it can always be found at celebrations. Gollen orchards are located all over the planet and juicing facilities are always nearby. These orchards are often family-run and the facilities have slowly grown with the sponsorship of various nobles and organizations. Although the base recipe remains the same no matter where golden ale is purchased, some producers add vitamins, spices, and other ingredients. These additions must be listed in full.

Significance

Golden ale was created on Jaque by the first settlers, and quickly became important to their new culture. The drink was shared during meetings, parties, and other gatherings, whether they be political, formal, or casual. It is now a staple of Jaquean cuisine and available at almost all events, particularly celebrations and diplomatic meetings.

Raw materials & Components
