Kendra

The False Sister

Appearing in a wide variety of myths, this second-generation Celestial is mentioned often alongside the Commander and Rohana. She is associated with secrecy, selfishness, and pride. She is classified as a Dark Celestial.
It doesn't make her any less terrifying. He saw her power when he emerged from the cell and saw the guards lying in pools of red in the hall.

History

Kendra's origins are some of the strangest in all of Celestial mythology. From her first appearance, she brings an air of secrecy and silence, a suggestion that something is wrong. In her first story, she is introduced to Rohana as the Commander's other daughter. No details of her birth are given, but it is clear that she is not Celosia's child.

Upon being introduced to Rohana, Kendra took her place as the heir to the Commander's household, and was held in high esteem while Rohana was forced to serve her. This continued for hundreds of years with no intervention from the Commander. When Rohana finally fled her father's home and sought refuge with Love, Kendra stayed by his side, especially when the Celestial War began. During the war, Kendra was a deadly fighter and skilled combatant. It is unknown how many casualties were because of her. Kendra would go on to survive the war and disappear into the space between stories, remembered painfully by Rohana, who suffered under her for so long with no answers about her mysterious sister.
At some point between the war and her next appearance, Kendra met and married a mysterious Eternal. This man is only mentioned alongside Kendra and even his name is unknown. Kendra and her husband had one son, Karol. Kendra, who is often mentioned as cruel, narcissistic, and selfish, likely passed on her traits to her son.
After Karol's birth, the couple faced two other Celestials in battle: Elara and Brillo. During this fight, Elara was killed by Kendra's husband. Brillo was able to defeat him and Kendra slayed him to avenge her husband. In the process, her body was destroyed and her spirit was sent to another realm.
Do you think she loved him? I don't. My grandmother could never love. She killed Brillo because she could.

Despite her "death", Kendra continued to appear in stories told by Karol to his children, suggesting that she could still communicate with his realm. She manipulated many of his decisions and helped him to take over Visor. If she has done anything else, none of it is recorded in legend. She remains a mysterious yet dangerous Celestial and one who should never be crossed.

Magic & Powers

Kendra's powers are numerous. One of her main abilities is darkness manipulation, likely inherited from her father. She can also, like many Celestials, create weapons out of nothing, although hers are made of pure darkness and can dissolve at will. She can teleport in a whirl of shadows. Her mental magic is also strong, allowing her to break into peoples' minds and control them with little effort. She can also affect peoples' feelings to an extent and is proficient in blood magic.   Various stories describe her eyes turning completely black, a manifestation associated with evil. Many believe this is from the Commander, but a few have noticed a strange black substance slinking through the background and lending her power.

Appearance & Renderings

Kendra is described as a stately woman in her late twenties to early thirties. In her first appearance, she was younger. She has black hair and black eyes, long eyelashes, and thin brows. Her skin is fair, with undertones of pink. She is described as either average height or slightly above average. She holds herself straight and imperiously, looking down her nose at others, and is dressed in black and dark purple.   Kendra has rarely been painted or drawn. Popular opinion is that she is an opponent and enemy of Rohana, who is held in esteem. When she does appear in artwork, she is often compared to her sister, with the two sharing similar color palettes. Kendra is always presented in darker shades, with a sneer on her face. The most well-known artwork is called "False Sisters", created by a mysterious artist, and depicts the two standing across from each other, likely at their first meeting. The Commander is not present in the original, but inspired works often show him standing behind Kendra as if presenting her to his first daughter. Kendra has a look of pride on her face, while Rohana stares sightlessly at the ground, the aftermath of betrayal leaving her numb.
Kendra had smashed into her mind, controlled heralmost all the itme, and constantly shut down her consciousness.

Author's Notes

I considered doing the Commander, but I don't think I'm ready for that yet. He's a very important character in both the world and the story, and I need to sort out all his information before I can write about him.

Well, she's rather terrifying, isn't she? It's scary she can still communicate despite being "dead".

Yeah, a little scary. She is the fifteenth most powerful Celestial currently alive, so she's got some impressive powers.

Lilliana Casper   I don't comment much, but I love reading your articles! Please check out my worlds, Jerde and Tread of Darkness.
