Naida's Lullaby

Lyrics

Close your eyes and drift to sleep
Tomorrow will be here soon.
Go to sleep, my child,
Go to sleep, my sweet.
Go to sleep, my son,
My moon and stars and sky.
— Naida's lullaby

Melody

The melody of Naida's lullaby by Lilliana Casper

Background

Written thousands of years ago, the song known as Naida's lullaby is a soft melody that is heard mainly in the farther reaches of the galaxy. According to legend, the ancient Celestial of water wrote this lullaby for her sister to sing. Naida herself is not believed to have had any children, but besides the legend of Celosia and the Commander, not much is known about the elemental Celestials.

Music

Although this quiet song is usually sung acapella without accompaniment, the melody has been written down. On the right is an image of the basic tune, which is usually sung without instrumentation. The most common instruments used to accompany the song are the piano, guitar, and violin. However, music going with the song is rather rare due to the song's lullaby status.

Spread

Naida's lullaby has remained local to outer planets, mostly those uninvolved with the IPA. Even planets like Jaque and Stelsa have only heard of the song, while most of the galaxy has no idea that it exists. This ancient song, though beautiful, cannot be found anywhere else other than the few planets where it was written long ago.
