Unexpected
Scraps of writing found on a half-burned scroll on the planet of Xyan. The words in bold were filled in because the originals were illegible.
Celosia, Celestial of fire. The Commander, Celestial of darkness and hate. No one expected them to fall in love. Fire and darkness, they say, are far too different to ever find a common ground. Flames and shadows do not mix. Could a woman known as the “burning flame” fall in love with a man who was called the “commander of war”? Love said no. Her brother was not witty enough, not happy enough, not kind enough. He could never love that way. And Celosia, she was too bright, she was too sweet, too trusting, too gentle. She would be totally corrupted. The other Elementals said no. Naida shuddered when asked about the Commander and claimed that he had secrets she did not wish to know. Fadilah said it was Celosia’s choice, but that he was too possessive and would not leave her when she was done. (Celosia snapped that she would never be done with him and Fadilah should mind her own business.) Only Oralia showed any support, yet even she was hesitant. “You should be careful, Love does not think you should be with him.” Jason said no. Their ideals were opposite. Celosia was forgiving and brilliant. Her lover was cold and dark. Jason did not think they would be good together. The Emotionals were divided. Haides and Xuena were pleased. Ella and Zeke did not care. Jordan and Natasha trusted Love but refused to give their own opinion. Terico and Dolores said they were happy to see a new couple. Deimena hated the romance and Francis laughed awkwardly and looked away. Others gave their opinions. Others said no. Others said yes. What everyone agreed on was that Celosia and the Commander were an unexpected romance. They were too different to have ever been pictured together. The two did not listen to what anyone said. They did not care if other people thought they would fall apart, believed they would leave, or insisted they would fail. For Celosia and the Commander, love was enough. Their marriage was called an affront to their natures. Their love was mocked as false. Even the Commander’s own sister wrote that it was an aberration. “They should not be together,” she claimed. “Such a deviation cannot be allowed to exist. Such a union cannot possibly be right.” No one believed they would last. But no one expected it to end as tragically as it did.

Author's Notes
I think I want to write Burning Shadows in December, that's the actual myth about Celosia and the Commander. But this is some thoughts from other Celestials on their relationship.
