Dryads

Probably the kindest of all the sapient species on Earth. They kind of look like humans - with their limb situation and all that - but where humans have remnants of fur, dryads have bark and branches and leaves and stuff. Similar to the trees and their trunks, the "skin" of the Dryads is usually brown, dark brown or with some greyish undertones. There are exceptions to that, of course. 
They are basically plants and they have been wondering the Earth longer than you have. And unlike humans, they do not have the gift of magic: they are magic.
