Personal history

Born in a forest village near the border with the Empire of Trem Dhurilar lost his family at an early age in a raid by humans of the empire. Too young to fight he survived by hiding until the attackers left. He was found by another elf called Seria who had rushed over after seeing the smoke from the raid. Seria had not come to provide aid but rather to salvage any corpses that could be animated. While not originally planning to help Dhurilar, Seria recognised that the child's grief could be used to make him into an agent for her cause.
Dhurilar was indoctrinated into the Assistants with Seria taking care to play to the Dhurilar's desires by teaching that the humans and other short lived races needed to be exterminated first. Dhurilar's desire to get revenge for his family gradually morphed into a desire to remove all humans from the world and he threw himself into training with weapons and magic. His devotion was recognised by bo the cult and their patron deity and when Dhurilar's training was complete he was presented with the newly created Eternity.
After a failed raid on an outpost of Trem, Dhurilar struck out on his own for a while and terrorised the streets of the city of Trem while looking for a way to eliminate everyone who lived there. After his plans were thwarted he returned to the fold and joined in various attempts to spread deadly diseases throughout the lands. Finding greater success in these slow and careful operations Dhurilar climbed through the ranks to become Chief Assistant. When he found he was getting too old to be of much use he arranged to be killed in the vicinity of the Spiritlight.

• First recorded wielder of Eternity.
• Reputed to be the creater of Living Death.
• Led the Assistants for nearly 3 centuries.

Failures & Embarrassments

Despite his dedication Dhurilar was never able to master the ritual to turn himself into a sentient undead. Ashamed of his appearance of vitality he tried to conceal this inadequacy by inflicting himself with skin conditions to change his outward aspect. While he did manage to improve his appearance both enemies and allies were aware of the truth earning him the name The False Dead.

Motivation

Dhurilar had an absolute belief in the cause he was given by Seria. He believed that the only way the world could be saved was through the death of all living things and that the shorter lived and faster breeding species needed to be exterminated first. Dhurilar's beliefs were divinely inspired and the power granted by his deity only served to reinforce that belief.
