Personal history

Ixalsthic was sent from their home community to secure a new supply of slaves from Trem. In order to do so they slowly gained influence over members of the imperial family and almost total control of the county's infamous bureaucracy.   While Ixalsthic was more than capable of simply dominating the minds of the weak-willed people of Trem, they much preferred arranging events so that its pawns chose to do things of their own will. They did of course have the benefit of being able to read the minds of any potentially useful pieces, but the challenge lay in finding just the right conditions to ensure that everything went as planned.   In addition to being a mental diversion this approach also had the benefit of leaving no psychic imprint, and Ixalsthic was able to spend almost half a century arranging matters to its satisfaction. When the queen of the elves travelled to Trem to request aid in dealing with a threat from the north Ixalsthic found them able to play a much wider game involving multilple countries. This game was made more enjoyable by the protections used by both the elven queen and the leaders of other lands to prevent their thoughts being read.
Children
Ixalsthic was able to arrange matters so that their presence was a necessity for Trem to provides support in fighting the Greenskin Invasion. Arrangements were made to allow them to take a number of slaves each year with guarantees of no interference from the surrounding lands (Letter to Ixalsthic).   Ixalsthic's manipulations ensured their safety for many years with none of the competing factions willing to move against them. However, what they didn't account for was a rogue group of adventurers who ignored the agreements guaranteeing Ixalsthic's safety. Filled with righteous conviction these adventurers slew Ixalsthic and triggered a blooody civil war. This conflict caused economic chaos across the continent and severaly hampered efforts to rebuild from the greenskin invasion.
