15 Firmon
Always knew Darren would take on more than he could handle at some point. From what the villagers have told us it's pretty clear he gave up on the job and went treasure hunting on his own, without doing the research first. Shame about the others though

Those villagers were lying. We ought to head back and explain to them the benefits of being honest. So Darren did do something stupid, but Wirren at least is still here. Seems Ophel gave up on the job, and went back to report to Martin. Guessing the villagers interfered with that. Wirren is still helping the scribes in the hope of finding that scepter. All well and good, but the pay is ours if it is recovered.

We've pitched in with clearing that tunnel. Wirren says the scholars think it led to a storage area. They've been keeping their distance from me and mine, but that's nothing new for these bookish types.

5 Tend
Progress is slow and I doubt any messages are making it past that village. It's time to cut our losses and head back. Only trouble is that Tikrel is dead set on staying as is Madak. They can't give me a straight reason why, but Madak promised to show me what they've found later tonight.
