Ochre Carapace

This set of armour consists of thin strips of metal attached to sturdy leather. The wearers joints are protected by chainmail. A visored helmet with a horsehair plume protects the head. All of the metal parts are painted yellow and even the leather has been dyed a similar shade.

Significance

According to research by Perfin Searcher, the armour originally belonged to the captain of the 3rd infantry company which was stationed near Chirin-on-Dimar. The Evertis Ruins were discovered to be that company's former barracks in 204.   The armour was recovered from the Evertis Ruins by Theresa Skullcracker. Though the leather had rotted away, the paint and the conditions in which it was stored meant the metal pieces were still intact. Theresa had a new leather backing made, and after paying for some research on the origins of the armour, decided to have the leather dyed yellow. She wore the armour for 10 years until she retired from life as a mercenary. During that time numerous pieces had to be replaced and repaired, and Theresa made sure the replacement pieces were painted in the same vivid shade of yellow. After her retirement, Theresa passed the armour on to her niece Phillipa.
