Troll-eye Amulet

This amulet consists of a series of heavy gold links holding a golden hemisphere. Set in the hemisphere is a huge eye which moves around within it's container as if looking for something.

History

The eye was taken from Baramith before he grew to his current monstrous size. The intention was to study the troll's regenerative powers but one of Kaldrick's apprentices thought it might be entertaining to see what would happen if the eye tried to regrow the rest of the head while it was trapped in a small container. After cleaning up the mess from that ill-advised experiment Kaldrick realised how much potential this eye contained. Taking over from where his late apprentice had left off, Kaldrick worked out a way to channel the eye's attempts to regrow the rest of a troll into a magical object.   Some thought was given to creating replicas but by then Baramith's regenerative powers had gone far beyond what had been expected, and the prospect of two or more Baramith's being created was too dreadful to contemplate.   The amulet was passed between the warlords of Prel for many years, with the transfer generally being relatively peaceful. However, a disastrous assault on the Kefli domain led to it's loss. The amulet was later acquired by the warlord of the Mukulus domain and remained in that domain until it was stolen by a group of dwarves and elves after they had murdered the previous owner.

Powers

This amulet grants the wearer the regenerative powers of a troll, or more accurately the enhanced regenerative powers of Baramith. Flames do nothing to slow the healing, and only an extreme injury such as removing the wearer's head will be enough to kill them. In addition the eye can be detached from the amulet and the wearer of the amulet can see through the eye. Looking through the eye can be a disorientating experience and requires intense concentration. Those who do use the eye in this way report that at times what they see is not what the eye should be seeing. Instead they get a feeling of being trapped and all they see is a white haze beyond which they can just make out the shape of large columns.
