Agako
"The centre point of all trade in Northern Tsano."
Demographics
Most inhabitants are human, although a thriving Rêmali community exists aswell. The North part outside the wall does not hold slums this is mostly due to it being next to the castle. Almost all of the slums are located in the South Eastern parts outside the wall.
The richest live either close to the castle or in the centre square. This is where merchants trade wares to be sold off to Chêm. Real esatate in the centre square is some of the most valuable real estate in Tsano for this reason.
Government
The city government is for the most part housed in the castle. At the head is the city Keeper. The leader who’s job is to oversee Agako. A new city Keeper is chosen every 3 years. All current inhabitants of the city that pass the voting requirements are allowed to vote on the Keeper. Halfway through the Keepers term another vote is held to see if he current Keeper will hold his/her position for the other half. If 60% or more of the votes are negative a new election will be held. The Keeper that is then chosen will have a term that is 4,5 years long. The halfway vote will be held at 2,25 years instead of one and a half.
During the Keeper elections the city is busteling with visitors and market stalls are as full as ever.Under the Keeper are 5 governers. They each keep their own part of the city. The most powerful of the governors is the one keeping the center of the city. Seen as the least powerful/influencial is the governor that keeps the part of the city that mostly consists of the slums. Under the governors are many smaller regiments of taxation managers, city workers, guards and the like. Agako is the only city operating with this system. The city is so busy and important to Zetara that a more specialized form of management was needed.
Defences
Besides housing all of the government work, the castle also houses a small battalion to protect the city. The gates are always gaurded heavily by 2 pairs of four gaurds. The towers surrounding the city are also filled with soldiers patrolling the walls. However of this is minor when one considers the fact that there are almost a few mages in Agako for bussines. This is the main reason there isn't much violence outside the slums.
Industry & Trade
Agako is the main for trade in Tsano. Many wares from places such as Gama, Jêtan, Napo and even Nini wood from Chêm are all gathered here through the many trading cities placed around Zetara.
Infrastructure
The inner part of the city is an older part that has been well kept. But since the Chêm became such an important place the city has been growing rapidly beyond its walls. These parts (especially the South East) are less well kept and even hold the slums. The city counsil is already commencing efforts to better the circumstances in these parts.
The roads leading into and out the city are always busy, even at night. Many merchants and craftsmen from all over Trima are seeking wealth in the growing economy of Zetara with Agako as its centre point
Assets
Valuables from all over the world are collected for trade in Agako.
