Abyssal Chicken

Abyssal Chickens are small Demons native to the Plane of Demons. It is unknown what the origins of the Abyssal Chicken or how they were formed, or what classification of Demon they truly are. All that is known, is that they are a chaotic evil chicken-like creature that spawns from trees fully grown and ready to hunt down any creature it can.

Appearance

Abyssal Chickens are small red demonic-chicken creatures. They have leather wings that are folded above them, giving them a tear-shaped appearance, though these wings are not capable of sustained flight. They have a large mouth filled with fangs and a long tongue. Abyssal Chickens primary form of locomotion is their two large legs, which end with feet that resemble those of a chicken's though the three claws on each foot are double the size.

Combat

Abyssal Chickens use their claws and fangs to defend themselves or attack prey, though normally in groups. They are fast runners and use their wings to increase their speed.

Ecology

Native to the Plane of Demons, they can be found on many of its endless layers. They are spawned fully-grown in large trees with fleshy sacks on their branches known as Spawning Trees. In those fleshy sacks, the Abyssal Chicken grows until they become mature, where the fleshy sack falls off the tree and hits the ground, breaking open, releasing the Abyssal Chicken.

Uses

Abyssal Chickens are hunted and used as a food in dishes. Their flesh is said to have a taste identical to that of a fatty chicken. They are also sometimes used as familiars or pets.
