Knights' Folly
Three knights brought together for the hand of maiden, none left those hills. Their memorial obelisks still stand today, weather-worn over the centuries as a reminder that fighting is inevitable, by kings and peasants alike, no matter how petty the reason or noble the cause. The results are always the same.
History
A noble maiden's hand was promised to three different knights of rising promise. These knights were each told to defeat the other in combat in order to secure their future wife, but only one walked away happy.
