The Burning of the Ash Wood was one of many conflicts during The Tumultuous South conflict.
After the Raid of Grey Crown Keep, House Westman pursued the fleeing Harmon forces where they fell victim to a well prepared ambush. The Westman forces, some twenty-five hundred cavalry and man-at-arms, were engulfed in fire and the Ash Wood and several miles of surrounding countryside burnt to the ground and even after many centuries of recovery and regrowth still bears visible scars.
