Crystals

Crystals are often used to store or magnify Magical Power. However, no basic Crystal will do the trick, at least not for long periods of time. Specific qualities and cuts must be used, and it is believed (though not exactly proven) that certain Crystals hold Magic for much longer amounts of time. Crystalworking is a highly respected but very difficult craft that can oftentimes take decades to master, with much sacrifice oftentimes coming towards an individual before they can even start.
Low-Quality Crystals will eventually "leak" their Magic over a couple of years and eventually lose their power. The highest quality Crystals are capable of holding a charge for hundreds if not thousands of years.
