Magic Miasma

Magic is essentially found in the air all across the Hubs. In most areas, this Magic is near-imperceptible and cannot be seen outside of trained Casters; however, in certain areas, the Magic is much thicker and is often a sign of the walls between the Hubs and the Major realms being less solid in these areas. The closer an individual gets to a portal to one of the other Realms, the more obvious this Magic gets until it eventually starts essentially choking the air out of people's lungs. This is the most obvious near portals to the Feytell, as its the Realm of Wild and Dangerous Magic.

Manifestation

In its least concentrated form, Magic cannot be seen by anyone outside of an advanced Caster, with it appearing to them as small crystalline orbs that seem to change their colour constantly. As Magic gets thicker, however, it becomes more obvious, to the point where even the most untrained of Peoples are capable of seeing it; it takes the appearance of a shimmer cloud of varying thickness that shifts colours regularly.
