Eleonora Wiek
Panzerfrau
Summary
A self-described "warrior artist" who once served as an officer in the extensive Gewehrland military structure. Eleonora Wiek's childhood dream was to become an architect; someone who could produce and improve upon the beautiful homes and stately manors that decorated her hometown. When her family fell upon hard times, however, she joined the military rather than pursue her passions. Gewehrland is famous, and sometimes infamous, for the fact that even a person of low birth can achieve a sort of nobility through military service. Eleonora was no exception, with her analytical mind and hard pragmatism, quickly rising to wealth and prestige as an officer. Though the arts are sometimes overlooked in Gewehrland, Eleonora's eye for shapes and angles did not escape her superiors' attention. She was placed in command of producing Panzers, mobile, metal war machines designed to overwhelm even the most powerful Trufflish soldier. This state of affairs continued for several years, and while not exactly happy, Eleonora did find herself fulfilled by the work. It was not to last, however, as a cunning Trufflish operative had been at work in the shadows for some time. The diminuitive spy, having gained access to the ponderous, Gewehrman bureacratic machine, planted a trail of extensive false evidence painting Eleonora as the culprit behind massive panzer sabotage, and a spy herself. It was only by her mettle and wits that the unfortunate Wiek escaped arrest as a traitor. Fleeing to nobler allies in the Crown of Castille, she traded her knowledge of Gewehrman engineering for safe passage anywhere outside of Europe. Anywhere the Gewehr killsquads couldn't follow. So it was that Eleonora found herself on a Portugeuse missionary ship bound for the distant shores of Japan. It was a lengthy journey, and gave her plenty of time to process what had happened. Everything Eleonora knew had gone in an instant, and while she was safe, she was highly dissatisfied with how things had ended. Certainly, her family would be taken care of, so long as they were exonerated from any association with her. That should not be a problem. The Trufflish spy had targeted her in particular, however. Why? Simply because she was the "face" of panzer production? Something still felt undone, and it gnawed at her. Upon arriving in the southern port of Wakayama, however, Eleonora's doubts were dispelled by a grinning, pink-haired gentleman who somehow spoke bits and pieces of her native language. They welcomed unique individuals here, he explained, and someone as exotic and skilled as her would surely have no trouble finding work until such time as she was able to tie up those untidy loose ends. Through this curious man, Eleonora was granted an audience with an adviser from the local "Clan," and grudgingly began a new life with the same determination that had carried her this far.Eleonora Wiek
