Summary
A noted samurai and master of the spear, now a ghost who haunts Himeji Castle. Gotō Mototsugu was originally a samurai of the Kuroda Clan but met her death in a duel with Honda Tadakatsu while on loan to the Oda Clan. Tadakatsu's fearsome spear, Tonbōgiri, cut straight through Mototsugu's torso, severing her horizontally into two clean halves. This injury has persisted even through death. Her two halves can now operate independently of each other, a floating torso and a pair of legs. For convenience's sake, she usually keeps her upper body bound to her hips with a ghostly sarashi. Mototsugu has a gregarious, sociable personality. She loves alcohol of all types, and tries her best to work it into every social interaction. It's said that she's happy and willing to host anyone at the castle who brings a bottle of sake with them. Becoming a ghost hasn't changed her personality much, and she seems to simply view this as another chapter in her continuing story. Even she, however, isn't entirely sure why she didn't simply pass on to Yomi like so many other souls.Unique Abilities
Basic Metamorphosis (Special): Gotō Mototsugu was killed when Honda Tadakatsu sliced her entire body in half horizontally with Tonbōgiri. This wound did not heal when she became a ghost, and her form is still separated into two halves at the upper stomach, though she usually wears a binding garment to keep herself from floating off. She can separate from her lower form as an active action, and each may operate simultaneously and independently, with some restrictions. Firstly, Mototsugu's upper half may only move using her Mystical Flight Value of 6. Secondly, her lower half may not take any action which requires the use of hands, and may not attack using her weapon, though it may still make Unarmed attacks. Unless within sight of the upper half, the lower half also continuously takes the penalties associated with being blind. Both halves are still the same creature; they act at the same time, they share the same HP, and take the same action penalties from all relevant sources. If both halves choose to attack, they must do it at the same time, as part of the same attack action. There is no limit to the maximum distance between Mototsugu's separate halves.
