Kubokuma-dōnyo
Oni Archaeologist
(a.k.a. 久保熊堂女)
Summary
A tiny oni who hails from the dusty slopes of Mount Ōe. Though she appears to be a young girl, she is actually several hundred years old, and one of the most learned among the Ōeyama-dōji. This is admittedly not a high hurdle to clear, but Kubokuma-dōnyo is an amateur historian, focusing on the history of yōkai in general and oni specifically. She takes a very physical approach to the study, and often wears the yields of her recent archaeological digs as accouterments on her clothing, especially favoring ancient Oni skulls. Kubokuma-dōnyo also studies an ancient fighting technique utilizing an enormous war fan and specializing in sweeping dodges that remove her allies from harm's way. This elegant style, combined with her knowledge of oni history, has garnered her a great amount of respect among the more intelligent denizens of the Mountain. An equal number, however, have dismissed Kubokuma-dōnyo and her anthropological pursuits as a waste of time and syllables.
