A legendary blade forged by divine Susano'o himself from the blood of the immortal dragon, Yamato-no-Orochi. Kusanagi no Tsurugi was wielded by the god of storms for a time, but he eventually lost it in a bet to Amaterasu, who bestowed it upon her own children. In this way, the blade has become a piece of the Imperial Regalia of Japan, handed from Emperor to Emperor until its whereabouts were lost centuries ago.

All damage dealt by Kusanagi no Tsurugi completely ignores any damage barriers, damage immunity, or damage reduction the target creature or object may possess. In addition, on a successful Breakage attempt against a weapon of high Quality, the targeted weapon breaks entirely, rather than being reduced by 5 points of Quality.
