Summary

Born of the union between a mysterious kitsune and powerful nobleman, Shiranami Reiji no longer keeps in contact with either of his parents. He is, as he'll be happy to let you know, a genius. He's also a troublemaker. Reiji doesn't get along well with most people, and enjoys making mockeries of those he thinks are too "stuck-up," especially when they're in positions of power.
With an eidetic memory and the ability to learn almost any subject on a whim, Reiji has put a considerable amount of time toward the study of law. Rather than turn this knowledge to productive ends, he instead chases the thrill of skirting on the very edge of what is legal. When brought to account for his perceived crimes, he acts as his own lawyer, inevitably finding some loophole or clause that absolves him of any wrongdoing.
Most of his young life was spent in Echizen Province, pursuing such questionable activities. Recently, however, Reiji's antics have caught the wrong kind of attention. The kind of attention that will resort to not-so-legal means in order to bring him to heel. Reiji is no fighter, so he has had little recourse but to flee south, out of the capital. In a flight of desperation, he's expressed a willingness to shack up with anyone who will offer him a bit of protection from his dangerous pursuers. Perhaps his extensive intellect is even worth the twofold trouble that no doubt comes with it.
