Summary
When Princess Kaguya rebelled against her father, Tsukuyomi, and left the moon for Earth's past, many skillful individuals of the Lunar Empire were sent to retrieve her. Her departure had another effect, however. Some powers on Luna began to see their residence on the bright side of the moon as restrictive; an unrequested exile enforced by Tsukuyomi. Of course, circumstances prevented these rebels from leaving Luna itself or traversing the Dark Side, so they followed Kaguya-hime's lead and traveled to the past. Among the largest groups of lunar refugees is a collection known as the Children of Avatea. A wayward group of siblings who rarely see eye to eye, they have come to Japan seeking culture, music, and freedom from oppression. Naturally, the Children of Avatea have since spread themselves out amongst the various clans that rule in the current age. Umbriel is the eighth Daughter of Avatea. Not the eldest by far, but still considered senior among her siblings. She carries herself with a graceful, detached bearing, and is almost unapproachable in her aloofness. Of course, her exotic height and beauty have attracted many brave suitors, but all of them have met with total disinterest. It isn't that Umbriel is daydreaming, or that she's ignoring those around her, but she always seems to be focused, listening to something different entirely. Despite this, her features do light up and her eyes focus whenever musical theory is mentioned. Umbriel has particular ideas about rhythm, and how it should be applied to all things, including combat.Unique Abilities
Quavering Scythe: The Quavering Scythe is a unique piece of Lunarian technology designed to resonate with the tempo of its wielder. Contrary to the usual rules for large weapons, it can be used with the Kempo martial art to make several quick attacks, but only once every other turn, starting at the beginning of combat. On the off turn, its vibrations cease, and its wielder must either use it as a normal weapon with the normal penalties, or disregard it entirely in favor of a different approach.
