Maxim Encounters Kimaris Near Jigoku

As Maxim, Haures, and Kashirin near the edges of Jigoku, their journey is interrupted by the approach of another archdemon, this one with legions of followers in his wake.  Kimaris, a warrior of Pride for whose prowess many lesser demons are named, leaves his army at a respectful distance and approaches Maxim's group alone.  Although it seems at first that the lion-maned knight will challenge Maxim, he quickly loses interest when it becomes obvious that his intended prey has only armor, and not a weapon with which to defend himself.   Instead, Kimaris offers a trade.  He will furnish Maxim with a weapon and shield from his own armory.  In return, Haures must meet him and his legions in battle after she finishes her visit to Earth.  Haures agrees and Maxim is furnished with a lion-hilted sword and lion-crested shield from the archdemon's own stock before they part ways.
