Firal Descendent's Mark
This variant of the more commonly seen Descendant’s mark may be passed down from parent to child. The original Firal marks were given to the first Firal members for activation of otherwise hidden messages in Firal Speach, invisible passages or activation of magical items. Though this may sound as a positive mark to inherit, the descendant's mark is often seen as a cursed condition. This is due to the nature of the passing on of the mark.
The magic of the descendant's mark is passed on to all children of those who posses an activated mark. Only if the parent dies with an unfulfilled task, the mark in their child will activate. The wearer of an active inherited Firal mark will feel an inexplicable need to fulfill their parents task. Though an inner compass is activated guiding the wearer's intuition towards the tasks to be accomplished, a lack of knowdlegde on the specifics of the task can lead to the inability to complete it which can in turn lead to inability to ever feel satisfied or happy and possibly even madness. Intiotion can present itself in the form of developing affinity for a required skill to perform the task, a draw to adventure towards the geograhpical location of where the task should be performed or an unquenchable thirst of knowledge on a relevant topic.
Only a few treds ago, a magical formula was discovered to remove the idle magic of an unactivated descendant's mark. For many, this was considered a remedy or even a cure against the cursed condition of being a Firal descendant. For the Firal however, this meant a significant decrease in influx of new Firal members and a decrease in succesfully accomplished tasks.
Aspiring Firal members that are not in possession of an inherited Firal descendant's mark are admitted to the Firal after undergoing a ritual that provides them with a mark.
