Humanoids
After the many eras of mixing between the original humanoid species that lived on the planet, or came to it for refuge, many humanoids have more than one of the original species in their bloodline. Rural or remote areas tend to be inhabited more by persons with less of a mixed heritage.
Physical appearance
As a result, any combination of physical appearance factors from any of the original races can be found in todays population. For each of the following descriptors, about 10% of the population has a pattern with two or more distinctive features, and about 1% with three or more distinctive features.- Height ranges from small (like the kobold) to large (like the goliath).
- The integument (skin covering) of a person mostly occurs as a single consistency (such as skin, feathers, fur and scales). In some cases one or several limbs will be a different integument.
- Color of integument can either be an "average" of ancestors color, or a combination of distinguishable colors that appear in a pattern. (Similar to Blaschko's lines.)
- Eye color
- "additional" body parts such as horns, tail, wings, webbing between fingers or toes
- Lifespan.
- Resistance against certain environments (sunlight, poisons, oxygen deprivation, dietary preferences).
Influences on daily life
In areas where many mixed heritages occur, daily life is adjusted for most body types. For example:- Chairs in public spaces are adjustable in height. In contrast, chairs in a remote halfling village will be small compared to chairs in a remote minotaur village.
- Sizing and pricing. Sizes of consumables (e.g. food and drink) are available in small, medium and large. Depending on the local culture, the consumer price of such consumables is in some cases equal regardless of the portion. The idea behind this is that the cost of living should not be dependent on one's body. In these places, it is frowned upon if two smaller persons share one large meal.
