The Imperial Savarsin Family

For as long as the Empire has existed, there has been a Pureblooded Savarsin to rule it.

The Savarsin Family are the Imperial Seat of the Empire, taking on the role of Supreme Leader, Warmaster, or (rarely) Diplomat as needed. From their position of ultimate power they have shaped the land for both good and ill, always seeking to expand their borders and their power over their Empire.

Structure

The majority of the structure of the Savarsin family ties in directly with their role as the rulers of the Empire. The highest member of the Family is the current Emperor, then their Spouse, then any children. Of these children, the Heir Apparent is the highest ranking, being guaranteed the ascension to the throne in the event of their predecessor's death. The Heir Apparent is typically the oldest of the Male heirs, however there have been occasions where Emperors allowed their Daughters the position. This has happened only once, and the resulting Empress was quickly deposed by her younger brother.

Public Agenda

Historically the Savarsin family promises the continuation of the Empire and its values, and the expansion of the Empire's borders and military might. This agenda is changing with Sespian's power, since his values and ideals represent a more modern age and his hopes for the Empire to move forward more peacefully.

Assets

The Savarsin family are technically owners of everything within their borders, including the people and their possessions. This old clause is not typically noted, however. As the Imperial family they do possess complete control over the country's treasury, military and have Imperial Right to claim refuge for themselves and any men they so desire at any of the houses of the Warrior Caste. Their Naval forces are somewhat weakened following the Eastern Sea Conflict, but remain a force to be recognised.

History

In the Year 983, the First Emperor, Lentis Savarsin conquered much of the lands of Agria and declared himself Emperor of The Lands of Turgonia. For many years, throughout untold eras of victory, defeat and expansion, the Empire grew, and with it, the Savarsin Family. Now, many of the Warrior Caste can claim to have at least some Royal Blood, meaning that claims for the throne can get a little bloody. In the year 1700, Emperor Raumesys Savarsin dies, leaving behind only his teenaged son Sespian as heir. For those years, the Empire is run by Commander of the Armies Hollowcrest as Regent. 5 years later, in 1705 Sespian reaches his majority and takes control over the Empire. Very little has changed during his time in power, despite him talking frequently about his desire for a new Empire, one less tainted by its militaristic history.
