Apothecaries are often potioners or distillers as well or work very closely with those.

They are producing herbal mixtures for healing teas and infusions, they often collect or farm useful herbs, minerals and all the other stuff that is needed by medics, potioners and distillers.
They are knowledgeable in all the above fields to some degree but focus not so much on the healing but the safe applications of drugs and medicins.
