Gryphon

The Gryphon are a hybris species of unknown origin.
It would frankly be more correct to speak of a group of hybrids, which are comprised of a raptor head and wings and the body of a cat-like creature, most often a lion or other large predator.

There are several expressions within the group and not all of them should be considered the same species at all.
Often even the naming is different. For example, "griffin" is commonly used for a variation that shows more of its raptor heritage, generally the forelegs and a feathered chest.
