Synchronization

The ritual of synchronization is a long-standing tradition in almost all schools of magic.
Its primary use is hidden in the name, it synchronizes a magical tool, focus or other items to a user. At the end of that synchronization, the item will be easy for the user to employ, allowing him to take the maximum benefit from the tool or item.

The ritualistic synchronization was developed because it was found that many magical items did not work as expected. It took scholars a long time to recognize that even regular magical items did indeed share this need with their staves.
Today sychronisation is quite often expected. Even though with the use of certain ingreediance, spells or special techniques the process of synchronization can be cirumvented or speed up.

note down a number for the magical item (13/2-24/2D12) reduce that number by 1 for each use when 0 is reached the process is complete. For all uses increase spell cost and skillchecks by an appropriate number.
