Witchcraft

The primary difference between witchcraft and other disciples of magic is that witchcraft always has a strong emotional component to its spells and rituals. Emotions are used to power, enhance and fortify witchcraft magics.
For example, potions based on witchcraft draw much of their effectiveness on the intends and desires of the brewer.

This field of magic stretches into many of the other traditions and fields. So much so that many consider witchcraft one of the more useful traditions in day to day life.
While that may be true to some extent, the close association with emotions has spellt doom to many a witch and witcher, who lost themselves to their emotions, and were consumed by mindscattering love or souldestroying hate.

Remember, witchcraft is not the sole domain of witches but just one aspect of magic open to all active users.
