Copper

As one of the easiest metals to mine, copper has been an important material to the people of Turien for a very long time. Used in alloys, electronics, decorations, and instruments, the demand for copper has kept Dwarves busy.   Copper is a vital trade for Dwarves. As it is used in so many areas, and in large quantities, it has allowed the Dwarves to trade for much-needed food and surface materials needed in order to continue living well in the Underground. Houses and buildings are made through local trade by the Dark Elves they share the land with, and decorations and tech are often filled with the metals sourced from mining. Foods, wood, artwork, and many other things required for living and entertainment come from Humans, Beast-kin, Forest Elves, and Nymphs.   Dwarves have a knack for electronics technology. From drawing up plans to acquiring the materials to manufacturing and then selling the final products, many Human technology companies are actually headed up by Dwarves. Many of these companies are just branches of Dwarven companies with Headquarters in the Underground. This is how they have been for generations, so many Humans have forgotten this and Dwarves have not yet corrected any of the Human's wrong assumptions, waiting for the chance to show off their superiority and/or downfall of the surface Humans.

Properties

Geology & Geography

Copper is only mined in the Underground, although it is also found in the Wastelands, within caves, and in any undersea cavern.

Life & Expiration

Copper as a magical storage component has not been successfully studied. Or at least it hasn't been successful and recorded for further research/generations.

History & Usage

Reusability & Recycling

As with most materials (especially any that come from the Underground in the first place), any copper wastage is sent to the Dark Elves who magically recycle it. They are able to connect with the land magic inside of these materials and return them to their original state, to be traded back to the Dwarves, ready for the product cycle again.
