Psychopathy

The term “psychopath” is used to describe someone who is callous, unemotional, and morally depraved.

Causes

There is this saying. A psychopath is born, a sociopath is created. Babies and children can show signs of psychopathic tendancies. Babies may bite mothers then giggle. Children may do dangerous things or hurt other kids and not feel bad.

Symptoms

It’s important to distinguish between psychopaths and individuals with psychopathic traits. It’s possible to exhibit several psychopathic traits without being an actual psychopath. Individuals with psychopathic traits don’t necessarily engage in psychopathic behavior. Only individuals with psychopathic traits who also exhibit antisocial behavior are considered to be psychopaths. Psychopathic traits commonly include:

• Antisocial behavior
• Narcissism
• Superficial charm
• Impulsivity
• Callous, unemotional traits
• Lack of guilt
• Lack of empathy

Affected Groups

Men are more likely to be Psychopaths rather than women. But both men and Women can be pyschopaths.

Prevention

Some studies show that psychopathy may be caused by a lack of emotional attachment as a young child. I know that's a cause of reactive attachment disorder. I also know that some psychopaths were exposed to violence when very young. I'm not a psychologist, look this shit up.

Cultural Reception

Some people think that it's cool and attractive, other people think of psychopaths as serial killers.
