Wight
Rising from the decorated sarcophagi in barrows deep under the earth, Wights are terrifying creatures who straddle the line between the living and the dead. The bright spark of life is gone a wight, leaving the creature with a sense of emptiness it yearns to fill by consuming the life-forces of living things. Wights frequently arise when their burial chambers are disturbed, and once risen, do not willingly return to eternal slumber, preferring instead to hunt and kill those who disturbed them. It is not every burial chamber that gives rise to a wight, however -- dark forces of necromancy and undeath must be nearby to cause a wight to walk the earth again, as it once did in life. Wights are dangerous and deadly. Few who encounter them live to tell the tale.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Wights have the same basic anatomical structures they had in life, retaining a skeletal form covered in pale, cold flesh. Their internal organs will have long decayed, so the inside of a wight is hollow and empty, much like the emptiness where its soul once resided.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Being undead, wights do not need to eat, drink, or sleep.
Additional Information
Average Intelligence
Wights retain the same approximate intelligence they had in life.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Not much is known about the perceptive abilities of wights. When the party fought two wights, the light spell was active. Whether the wights could have seen in the dark is, therefore, unknown.
