Chikara Ryu

Purpose / Function

The Chikara Ryu is an academy that teaches martial combat to all its students. A variety of people may enter the academy for a multitude of reasons, be it self-defense training, self-improvement, etc. Students usually train for 4 years or more, perfecting whatever martial art that they planned on training. 
Ever since 450, the Ryu has served a new purpose and that purpose being to train would-be Grail Warriors. During the times that Haroshika entered the Holy Grail War, the Ryu would receive direct instructions from the government to begin training Grail Warriors during the months before the war. Warriors would go through 5 months of rigorous martial training, after which they'd be considered ready to fight. 
Currently, the Chikara Ryu specializes in teaching the following arts:

• Taijutsu (Hand-to-hand combat)
• Kenjutsu (Weapon-based combat)
• Ninjutsu (Stealth-based combat)
• Hiden Techniques (Unique/Magical styles)

Architecture

The Chikara Ryu's primary building is a massive four-story tower that is built on a raised earth and stone foundation. The tower is built from hardwood, stone, and plaster. Surrounding the tower are multiple barracks where the students rest. Within the tower itself, each floor is dedicated to teaching a specific type of martial art.

Defenses

The perimeter of the campus is surrounded by a 10ft bamboo wall with a total of 4 gates. The tower itself is currently guarded by one man. This individual guards the grounds of the tower with a large odachi and skills lethal enough to challenge the strongest of fighters. The most mysterious amount this one guard is that he's been there, patiently waiting for intruders for nearly a century, almost never leaving his post.

History

Construction of the Chikara Ryu began in 202 with orders by a samurai. The samurai wanted a dedicated academy where willing individuals could attend in order to hone their martial skills. The Ryu was fully built in 205. Originally, the Ryu was meant to serve the children of samurai and military members, but later expanded to anybody that wanted to learn martial combat.
In 450, when Haroshika was inducted into the 3rd Holy Grail War, the Chikara Ryu would serve a greater purpose by becoming the primary training area for people that were to become Grail Warriors of Haroshika. People who were chosen by the Grail to become Grail Warriors would then have to spend 5 months training at the Chikara Ryu. If you passed the 5 months of training, you could officially fight for Haroshika. If you didn't pass, you'd have to stay for several more months.
The Chikara Ryu still stands in the middle of a large Haroshikan forest. Far away from any major civilization, its students continue to train themselves.
