Personal history
Diarmuid Ua Duibhne was a noble knight and warrior whose tale tells of chivalry, romance, and tragedy. Ever since Diarmuid was a young man, he was known for his great fighting abilities and even greater attractiveness. Due to a magical beauty mark under his eye, he was able to entrance any woman that would look at him. This ability was made particularly problematic when he ended up causing a woman named Gráinne to fall madly in love with him. The problem was because Gráinne was originally supposed to be the bride of his best friend, Fionn mac Cumhaill.
After fighting off Cumhaill's pursuits and attacks, Diarmuid and Cumhaill's former bride, Gráinne, would soon be engaged and Cumhaill conceded this defeat. Diarmuid and Gráinne were re-accepted back into their homeland by Cumhaill. However, Diarmuid winning the heart of Gráinne would soon lead to his death. After a lethal incident occurred during a hunting campaign left Diarmuid badly injured, Cumhaill was responsible to heal him. Cumhaill's lingering anger and bitterness towards Diarmuid would lead to him allowing Diarmuid to bleed out and die.
Later in the world of Tynaria Alt, Diarmuid Ua Duibhne's soul would find itself in a more unexpected form. During the coming of the 4th Holy Grail War, instead of being summoned as a servant, his soul was instead infused within the body of an individual Finnigan McGareth. McGareth and Diarmuid now share a body and their souls have fused. During the infusion, Diamuid would bestow McGareth both his nobility and his spear, the Gae Dearg.
