Identifying Characteristics
Marcos' right hand has a set of Command Seals. The seals form two caltrop-shaped markings with a down pointed arrowhead at the lower center.
Special abilities
Being a mage slayer, Howard Marcos has a few tricks up his sleeve. His main broadsword can bypass any damage resistances an enemy may have. His training with his mage-slaying mercenaries have allowed him to have a very keen sense of intuition and even a bit of foresight abilities. This allows him to sense any sort of dangerous force that may be coming his way and allowing him to act accordingly. He also has the mage-slayer signature move of Accelerate-Stagnate, allowing him to either speed up towards the enemy or slow down and become nigh-invisible.
Upon entering the 4th Holy Grail War, he was marked as a Grail Summoner and his companion was marked as his servant. He was given 3 Command Seals and his companion-turned-servant had a chunk of their life energy replaced with magical energy.
Apparel & Accessories
Marcos wears a loose-fitting gray tailcoat that has a small badge on the collar that signifies his merc gang. Underneath is a simple olive-green tunic. In between the coat and the tunic is a brigandine chest plate that was issued to him upon joining his mercenary squad.
Specialized Equipment
Marcos' primary weapon of choice is a basket-hilted broadsword that his parents gifted him before he left off to school. This would soon turn into his Mage Slayer weapon, allowing him to bypass damage resistances from certain enemies.

Personal history
Howard Anton Marcos was born in a small town in Seredena Nation in the year 471. His early life was relatively normal up until he went to the capital to attend college at age 18. He had his dreams of forming a private security organization when he grew up, dreaming of being able to serve and protect rich noblemen in return of great pay and wealth.
At age 19, when he returned back home from school to visit his parents, he came to a terrible sight: Both of his parents were seen being shot and killed by a group of mysterious cultist-like mages, their blood drained from their corpses. He wasn't caught by the mages, but this only made him feel even more grief than ever. He realized that magic was far too volatile in the hands of random people, with those cultists being the worst possible result of magic being abused.
Marcos quickly met up with a small team of mercenaries for a job and place of belonging. His parents were dead, and his house was ransacked, so he thought this mercenary team was the next best thing. He had already learned some martial combat from his college days. However, Marcos would soon find out that these weren't any ordinary mercenaries. These people had fighting styles that seemed very intuitive and even learned that these people could do some weapon-enchanting to aid their escapades. He learned that these mercs were mage slayers and he followed their footsteps soon after finding out.
Now is the year 499. With the 4th Holy Grail War approaching, Marcos and his new partner-in-crime have decided that it was time to put their skills to the test. They were about to join the Holy Grail War and serve their nation. It was either live the merc life or live the life of glory.
Education
Howard A. Marcos attended the Sorderan Institute of Martial Prowess. However, he only completed a few semesters' worth of classes. He never got a degree, though he did receive a fair amount of martial combat training.
Mental Trauma
Marcos had to witness the murder of his parents and their house. It was because of this that he gained a slight distaste for magic users and an even greater hatred for those that abused magical powers. This even was what caused him to eventually become a mage slayer.
