The mage slayer is a fighter subclass that is available for campaigns set in Tynaria Alt. Mage slayer fighters are fighters that specifically dedicate their battle techniques in ways that grants them in edge when fighting the magically empowered.

Origins
Ever since the first wizards and sorcerers existed in the world, there were always people who worried about the possibility of powerful magic falling into the hands of the wrong individual. As such, there was always the need for individuals that could deal with these strong magical individuals.
While people like adventurers, mercenaries, and even other mages have been called up to fight off magical villains and monsters, there were always issues with some of these individuals going through a lot of issues when dealing with strong mages or magical creatures. The first person that could be classified as a true "mage slayer" achieved this status in the year of 389 after successfully fighting off a wizard crime lord. That individual supposedly entered the 2nd Holy Grail War; however, it was assumed that they died during the conflict. Their true identity was never fully remembered.
True Mage Slayers
Ever since the establishment of the
Bukatelian Magus Slayers guild, the prevalence of mage slayers steadily began to increase across the continent of Darnolia and even intercontinentally. True mage slayers are strong warriors that, as the name suggests, specialize in finding and neutralizing magical threats. These threats can range from undead to mad wizards to even fiendish creatures.
Abilities
Mage slayers have several abilities up their sleeves. Because they are fighters, they utilize weapons with great finesse. Mage slayers in particular have the ability to enhance a weapon of their choice to become their "Mage Slayer weapon." These enhanced weapons mainly serve the purpose of dealing magical damage that allow mage slayers to bypass the many damage resistances and immunities that certain magical enemies have. Some of the strongest slayers have the ability to straight-up disable a mage's internal magical circuits, preventing them from casting any remotely powerful spells and promptly executing them.
Mage slayers are also taught different ways of approaching threats. Skilled mage slayers have the strangely innate ability to sense when a harmful effect is coming and knows how to act accordingly in order to minimize any sort of damage. If a caster throws a
shatter spell at a mage slayer, they would've already saw it coming the moment they began fighting, so dodging the shatter spell is much easier for them.
One more set of abilities that mage slayers have are special self-applied enhancements that have been dubbed "Accelerate-Stagnate" abilities. By either speeding up or slowing down their body's internal function and sense of time for a brief minute, they can gain a variety of enhancements from moving faster to being stealthier. This ability is obviously quite taxing on them, so using them is considered something to be of a backup move.
