Session 13

General Summary

Party left the Crimson Pony to meet with Captain Terryn Stonesworn, Captain Aevan Feldspar, Lucan Bhaskir and Anita Qomenos. Found out that the blooded dwarf was likely a former resident of Brakspring. Clearly infected with some sort of Lycanthropy but its not been spread by a bite. Party mentioned that the bowmen they killed had said something about a pit the townsfolk were being converted in. Party then asked about Iaoth's Spear, Qomenos relays that Iaoth is the name of a fallen angel from the legend "The Harrowing of Tyr". Helgret & Felix intuit that Iakos is likely a portmanteau of the name Iaoth and the old dwarvish word Kosh meaning priest, making Iakos a 'Priest of Iaoth'.

The meeting is ajourned and Lord Bhaskir takes the party to the House of the Nine to begin the attempted resurrection of Gnemo. Xhada breaks off from the group to visit the Company of Lions Lodge along with 188. The resurrection is handled by Anata Rosidhe, a cleric of Anu, with help from Emmylou, Ella and Felix. The resurrection is successful and Gnemo returns to life with 1hp and a -4 to attack rolls, saving throws and ability checks. Every long rest from this point he gets +1 until he returns to normal. Emmylou pays the remaining 200gp to Anata and the party leaves the cathedral and heads back to the Crimson Pony.

Xhada finds the Lodge of the Company of Lions, she is 'greeted' by a petulant young squire called Henry mac Orton who she brushes aside. She is then invited to sit and have a drink by the Company's Lorekeeper (not Lawkeeper Matt. Ya doofus), Sarod Ashglade. She asks about the history of the Teyrnblaidd and is told two possible stories of its origins, one that it was a guardian spirit of the Arborwilds that was angry at human encroachment, and the other that it was a human bandit who made an ill-advised deal with the Lady of the Forest for power and was eventually unable to return to human form. Whatever the truth, a giant wolf eventually killed a Cîafran noble and the Company of Lions was contracted to kill it. This was 2 centuries ago, and the Lions were led by a Tiefling called Rahir Carcunnis. He led the entire company on the hunt for three weeks losing three of his companions to lycanthropy before they were able to slay it, cut off its head and bring it back as a trophy were it is displayed above the hearth in the Lodge.
Sarod mentions that Xhada looks capable, and that if she ever wanted to attempt entry into the Lions, she should talk to Lady Aethelspera of the Southwatch, the groups leader. Xhada and 188 excuse themselves and head back to the Pony to meet up with the rest of the group. On their way back, a figure in a brown cloak bumps into Xhada and hands her a note claiming Xhada must have dropped it. The note says;

"You are in danger. The Order knows where you are. Meet me by the statue of the weeping angel, on the intersection of Wylo Street and Masenach Alley at Dusk. Tell no-one, the city guard has been compromised. - A Friend"

Xhada and 188 head back to the Pony. The party reconvenes, Ella breaks open the scroll case she had found in the goblin cave and found it contained a diplomatic missive from Hochstein-Thraken, asking the Draketail League to denounce the troop movements of King Aegalric of Taltaea and the group make a quick visit to Akemirth Manor to hand over the missive to the one member of the Cyngôryth that they know, Lord Bhaskir. He thanks them, hands them 20gp, and rushes out to convene an emergency meeting of the Lucyngôr.
The party once again return to the Crimson Pony and the Opals come down from their room to greet the party. Happy reunion entails. Xhada done a hug. 188 gives itself a name. Whisk? Wsk? Some of the party finish their a long rest, Gnemo now only at -3 to rolls! Ella spends time copying some spells from Gnemo's spellbook.
Party heads out to meeting from the note. Sees figure Xhada met earlier facing away from them, toward the statue, its very still and does not respond to Xhada's hails. Helgret pokes it with a stick and the stick passes straight through it revealing it to be an illusion. Felix spots workers on the roofs. One approaches the edge and address the party. The workman waves a hand and he and the rest of the workers bodies shimmer and transform. An assassin is revealed along with 5 others. The illusory figure at the base of the statue dissipates.

"You have something that belongs to us, give it back. Now."

The party is confused by this and don't recall what they could have.

"The Beacon."

"...The Beacon of Mythel..."

"...A golden amulet with a ruby set in its centre, give it to me. We know who your working for."

There is more confusion.

"Enough of this. My sources say you have the beacon, kill them and search their bodies."
