Session 14

General Summary

Ambush by the Order.
A group calling themselves 'the Order' have ambushed the party in Caer Cîafran. 
Highlights from the fight;

• Wisk immediately getting up in the face of the Order Archer and Niamh whiffing her repelling blasts in an attempt to knock him off of the roof.
• Helgret scaling the angel statue and hiding between its wings. Throwing a dart at one of the hired thugs, and when he attempted to fire his crossbow in return, grabbing his bolt midair and killing him with it.
• Xhada throwing the guy Helgret just killed back up onto the roof in an attempt to intimidate Niamh is to standing down.
• Gnemo casting enlarge on Xhada. She then spends the rest of the fight as a giant fighting on the rooftop.
• Emmylou basically exploding a guy with an acid bolt from her crossbow.
• Niamh using the blood of a fallen comrade to summon a Babau demon and sic it on the party.
• Felix sprouting wings and rising up from a nearby alley to combat the demon.
• Helgret attempting to punch a demon in the nads. She hit. Twice.
• Xhada critting on that demon and taking off almost half its health in one turn.
• The last remaining hired thug taking one last look at the situation and noping the fuck out.
• Ella taking out one of the Order archers with a firebolt and blasting him off a roof.
• Gnemo and Wisk cornering Niamh as she tries to escape on foot.
• Felix smiting the Babau and leaving only a smoking pile of demonic protoplasm. I'm sure the real roof tilers will be ecstatic.
• Niamh slamming Wisk into a wall with her repelling blast and making it round a corner only to be hit full force by magic missiles from Ella. 
  

End of the fight, one hired thug has run away across the rooftops and one Order Archer has managed to evade Felix's pursuit.
Searching through the bodies of the fallen, the party finds a note which says the following;
"Ellis has been compromised, recover the Beacon from the miscreants at all costs and report back to me immediately.
H's blooded have reported spotting a group matching their description headed toward Caer Cîafran, the Lady has assured us that one of her Ways exits into the warrens, and has lent us two Domovoi to guide you.
Use them to enter the city, retrieve the artefact and leave the way you came. No witnesses. I'm trusting you to handle this matter with sensitivity, Niamh, do not disappoint me as Ellis has. Come back successful or not at all.
His will, to our hands.

Amongst the fallen's belongings the party find around 20gp, a pair of bracers with screaming faces engraved on them and a dagger with an ornate horned silver skull as its pommel. It has 3 crystals, two for eyes and one embedded in its forehead. Two of the crystals are cracked but the third radiates an ominous yellow glow. Helgret is also able to recover 5 vials of demonic ichor.
