Session 19

General Summary

Lorelei, Wisk and Marti head to The House of Enlightenment in Mosston in search of more information about Mythal. Lorelei with the help of Marti eventually finds information about The Harrowing of Tyr. Wisk looks for information on how to improve his wisdom, looking up treatises on philosophy, details on his own construction and some self help books in the Temples 'gift shop'.
Felix and Helgret head from Raph's Hall to the nearest guard tower in search of a local official who can fill them in on the disappearances. They meet Captain Aegan - Dwarven captain of the Mosston guard. Red faced. Balding - who cautiously accepts their help and directs them to the overgrown control station that three of his men have been guarding since last night as well as letting them know more details about the missing; there have been reports of homeless and vagrants disappearing for at least a week, but over the last few days a merchant's daughter, a few sailors, a latriner from the nearby sewer control station and a woman from outside town have all gone missing after travelling through Angel Gate late at night. Aegan seems to recognise Helgret and asks her if she was in the army but drops the subject after she answers evasively.
Felix and Helgret head off to meet with the guards outside the control station, they follow Cuchlan Street for a while before finding the group they're looking for who are standing nervously around the street, occasionally hacking at a vine that gets too close. They talk with the pair for a while and say they are waiting for a locksmith to gain entry to the station. Felix offers the party's help and says they'll be back soon. Helgret and Felix then spend some time exploring the nearby area, eventually running into an excitable gnomish merchant called Nubrix who ushers them inside his shop promising to show them his 'great treasures'. They peruse the shop, finding a few interesting items that are quite expensive.  They leave and head back to Raph's Hall to reconvene with the rest of the party, when they arrive, the barkeeper, Kels warns them that if they're "with that other knight, Carter, not to go sneaking around in the basement as its for employees only and his staff had already had seen Carter and another man who they didn't recognise going down there, but when Kels went to look, only the man was coming back up. So he can't throw Carter out - yet" 

The rest of the party returned to Raph's Hall and caught each other up, Lorelei and Wisk went off to Nubrix's Exotic Collections to take a look at the items themselves with Lorelei purchasing a finely made Qitakan Adamantine Dagger in exchange for her silvered dagger and Wisk expressing an interest in returning later for a five finger discount.

Using a produce flame cantrip, Marti notices that the vines on the surface are adverse to fire and shrink away when the flames get too close, she uses this to push the vines back behind the iron barred gate, Wisk then picked his way passed the lock and the party gained entry to the sewers. As they drive the vines back down into a nearby grate, they reveal a puddle of blood and the keys that belonged to the unfortunate Latriner that worked here.
The party descend down the grate into the main line of the sewers, it is dank, dark and smelly and the floor is slick with slime and detritus. Following the vines, they find themselves descending a steep flight of stairs where they encounter strange plant creatures that screech, hiss and attack them. During the fight, the vines are continually pushed back to their source - a large ring of mushrooms and toadstools with scorchmarks in their centre. In a brilliant flash of light, the vines fully retreat into Faerie Ring. After the fight, the party emerge victorious and investigate the Faerie Ring, finding them to be suffused with Fae magic and the Veil between worlds to be exceptionally thin.

LOOT: Felix picked up the remains of the spears that the Huntsman's Courtiers were carrying - two obsidian glass spearheads.
