Session 21

General Summary

Session began with the party planning how to take out the quicklings and rescue the woman in rags being pushed around. Eventually decided to bumrush them with the fastest party members (Wisk, Helgret, and Marti in wolf form) whilst Ella threw a fireball. The fireball detonated the faerie ring nearby and between them wiped out two of the quicklings and two hounds, leaving only one quickling and an assassin vine to deal with. The last quickling was dispatched with a quick crossbow bolt fired by Lorelei. The party introduced themselves to the terrified woman who explains that she lives down here and has done all her life. When asked how she was well she knows the sewers she replied that until recently she knew them very well - but tunnels she has used for years no longer lead where they should. She then introduces herself as Snaps. Ella is then lowered down the grate at the bottom of the effluence chamber to see what the area underneath holds. She reports back that she can see a natural cavern with a river flowing down some rapids to the north and a clutch of slimy pearlescent eggs attached to the wall on the south eastern cave wall, each about the size of a human fist. Ella is then raised back up to the party's position The party then takes helps Snaps get back to her camp in the southern pumps. Once they arrive at the pumps, they decide to take a short rest. Wisk takes the opportunity to do some recon, he finds that a couple of the faerie rings are starting to grow back. He then heads down the north corridor and can hear the sound of heavy boots moving down the mainline sewer from west heading east towards the septic pool. He follows the sound and sees three silhouetted figures with large conicle heads disappearing into the darkness to the east. He hears two voices bickering and then one shouts out that a faerie ring has been destroyed and that there's someone here with them. Wisk heads back to inform the party but by the time he returns with the party not quite finishing their short rest, there is no-one to be found. The party return to the southern pumps to finish their short rest. 
Once rested, the party head out west down the mainline sewer to explore the rest of it, they get halfway down the mainline when three figures come screaming out of a nearby pipe and attempt to kick Helgret whilst slashing at Marti and Felix. Everyone but Marti is caught in surprise. After some close calls, the murderous redcaps are defeated. Felix is hurt but still up when Wisk decides to take one of the hats from the Redcaps and wear it. As soon as the hat touches his head, Wisk flies into a murderous rage and attacks Felix, almost killing him, it's only thanks to the intervention of Lorelei's dispel magic and Marti's cure wounds, and a bit of luck that Felix survives.  Wisk is left shaken and apologies to Felix.
