Session 15: A Setback part 1 Report

General Summary

The party, after preparing themselves for the journey, decided to travel to thundertree to take their minds off their recent pyrrhic victory. They were also searching for the Crescent Sun, the adventuring party that had supposedly gone before them and hans't returned for a few days. To their surprise, that party was actually waiting for them along the river. They tried to strike a deal in getting the party to give up Droop for a share in the bounty. The party was not having it, so the Crescent Suns sprung their surprise attack as their hidden members jumped from the shadows. The fight was rough on both sides, with the party going through precious potions, while the Crescent Sun was forced to retreat without Droop. The party was at least rewarded with the unknown elf member that dropped their gear in the process containing an immovable rod and a few precious gems. At Thundertree, the party wasn't particularly troubled with the twig blights and fungal zombies. Things only came to a head when the party discovered the dragon's treasure hoard. This forced the dragon's instincts to break their cover and start rampaging through the ruined town. Unfortunately for the party, the dragon was able to find them through magic detecting their thoughts, and were forced to negotiate for their lives. For the price of a magical item and their word, the party were allowed to leave with their lives. Battered and bruised, the party marched back to Neverwinter, hoping things improve from here. It can't get worse right?
