Session 16: A Setback part 2 Report

General Summary

The party would not be deterred! After Erland resolved his business in the House of Lords and the party generally doing business. They began their march to Thundertree with a new weapon: a cannon propelled by Reza's donkey legs! They planned to bombard the dragon from a safe distance, and made preparations incase it somehow survived. They were ambushed on the way however, a group of kobolds were aware of the treachery Erland committed against the dragon and were there to stop the plan. Fortunately, the kobolds could not stand against the divine will of Erland's god manifest as a goat. There was not a single survivor to warn Venomfang of the danger. After a day, the party reached their destination. They went to set up their bombardment, and in the end it made the conflict anti-climatic. The dragon, mangled and near death from cannonball shots and falling to the ground from well made chain-shots, attempted to surrender to the party. They were not having it and killed it, ending the threat the dragon potentially posed to Neverwinter. The party now had the opportunity to clear out Thundertree proper, dealing with the remaining spiders and zombies. They learned two things in the process, Some folks they have met used to be adventurers until their adventuring days ended here when one of their members was killed by the spiders. Secondly, that one of them, Reidoth, was keeping tabs on the dragon and was impressed by the party when he found out the news. Being an experienced druid, Reidoth offered them quick travel back to Neverwinter by wildshaping into a whale. They were able to get back to town before the day was over, rewarded by the king for their heroism. Soon the party will be able to celebrate, it seems fortune favors them once again!
