Astral Sea Of Tyranaal

Like many other forms of the Astral Sea across the multiverse, this one is home to a multitude of creatures and civilizations that have not been seen for thousands of years on the material plane and a few, are newcomers in recent years.   Of these lifeforms that in habit the Astral Sea, the newcomers are actually the elves of Tellanor. The former capitol city in the material plane was stranded here after the city was magically transported escaping an undead invasion from the forces of Arma Tennebris. Shortly before those events, a lich had created a phylactery in the city of Tellanor releasing a large dose of otherworldly magics into the city, beginning the transformation of the citizens into what are now considered the Drow, dark elves. After the events were put into motion for Tellanor to escape to the astral sea, the transformation of the citizens into Drow was accelerated upon their arrival. Now these newcomers to the astral sea have converted newly crafted airships into vessels that can safely travel and patrol the astral sea around Tellanor.   The longest residing beings in the Astral Sea, would be the corpses of former gods and demigods and some have slumbered here since the first waves of the Astral Sea began to roll. The corpses of these gods sometimes take the shape of statues, islands or large skeletons, finally laid to rest after their lives that spanned thousands of millennia. Many think that the Astral Sea is the graveyard of the gods and the waves here are the magical blood that flowed in their veins. Whatever the sea is compromised of, the ambient magic here allows for sailors and explorers of the Astral Sea to travel to the very center of the multiverse. Many of the explorers call these gateways an 'ingress' and other side is called the wheel, the center or have a singular name in their home language for it. When someone passes through an ingress, any divinity or immortality you have in your universe, ceases to function on the other side along the wheel.   Some civilizations utilize the magic of the astral sea to energize powerful spells and rituals. There is an enclave of blue dragonborn called the Tarragon Court, who live on a gigantic dragon shaped statue. They believe themselves to be the inheritors of the will of the dragon god and all the dragons who have died. Some say they receive visions from the god's draconic statue and that these visions compel them to take artifacts or items from the other corpses and bring them to their home island. The Tarragon Court is considered one of the more aggressive groups in the Astral Sea and it is recommended to avoid them.   Among all of these groups, the pirates of the Astral Sea are among the most dangerous you can encounter. Where the material world has pirates sailing in ships and wielding swords and other makeshift weapons, the Astral Sea has pirates from across the universe, each with different otherworldly ships they have salvaged from the Astral Sea or procured from the Wheel. Instead of simple or martial weapons, these pirates will often have magical items and artifacts they have pulled from the waves of the Astral Sea. As a writer once said, "There's nothing more dangerous than a resourceful idiot."   For those who come here in hopes of adventure and treasure, know the profit will often come with a large investment...
