Melekion's Corpse, Astral Sea
When the universe was balanced by gods of chaos and gods of order, the Dragon God Melekion resided on the side of chaos. Before gods such as Valinae, Goddess of Water and Harmony came into existence. Melekion was a god who believed in seeding chaos by sending meteorites full of dragon eggs to unsuspecting planets. In a time before a barrier between gods and the material planes existed.
Melekion had clashed with gods of order thousands of times throughout the years. All while his dragons burned planets and civilizations out of existence. Yet, it wasn't his set goal to see these planets die. His goal, was to see what chaos would be created by introducing his children into these untouched civilizations. There were many times that his children were defeated and peace returned to a peaceful existence. In the times the planets burned, his children would give in to their chaotic nature and would then turn on each other. The planets this happened on, eventually went dark.
When Valinae, Goddess of Water came into existence, she came into her power around the time that Melekion's power was in a decline. When Valinae learned of the planets and the billions that died to Melekion's influence, she ripped Melekion's divinity from him and placed it in a newborn star. This star became the goddess Averonne, the golden dragon and the new sun that lit the universe. The goddess of water used his divinity to make another god that would bring life and warmth to the universe. Valinae threw Melekion's dying body into the Astral Sea, unknowing that his dead body would gather followers in the Astral Sea and that they would one day invade the material plane, killing some of Averonne's finest heroes.
Melekion's corpse influences those that stand upon it. The longer the group stays, the more easily the dead god affect their dreams and some times their memories. The dragon statue has a focal point in his throat where he can absorb the magical energy from other god's corpse parts or magical artifacts. The amount of energy that would be required for his resurrection is immense. Multiple high level magical sacrifices would have to be made to Melekion at the same time. His followers among the Tarragan Court try desperately to bring all that they can to offer, but unfortunately the chances of them finding enough magical artifacts at the same time to present to him is highly unlikely...and so Melekion waits.
