First Shift

The first shift it celebrated and closely watched, the young shifter would be disoriented, confused and might get hurt in the process. Usually they don’t remember the first few shifts but as time goes they gain more and more control. Maybe they can’t even shift in will at first. After the wolf’s first shift they move to the pack site. The human werewolf shifts at the later part of puberty. If it’s to early it could lead to death when the body transforms wrong and to late can lead to blackouts and loss of control, it can trigger the instincts. The shift is always supervised so the young shifter can get help and won’t be injured, otherwise it can take awhile before they can shift back. A successful shift is celebrated by a pack run and maybe games or a bonfire. The Moon Goddess is thanked for her help.

Participants

The alpha pair is always present to help the young shifter if it’s needed. Often the wise elders or another helpful pack member helps explaining and giving tips to the shifter.
