Shardmind
Description
Shardmind are created from souls from The Astral Plane finding their way to Ulthomel and inhabiting crystals. These crystals grow in size due to the Psionic power these souls contain until they start to resemble a humanoid shape. While the souls that create Shardminds are immortal, once they inhabit a vessel on Ulthomel, they become mortals- subject to entropy just like any other mortal on Ulthomel. Shardmind culture is much different from other cultures, as they don't reproduce and even the "youngest" Shardmind are fully mature individuals who have been sentient for hundreds or even thousands of years already.
Race Features -
Ability Score Increase: +1 to a Mental Ability Score.Languages: You can read and speak Celestial. If your intelligence is 14 or above you can learn a second language of your choice.
Crystalline Form:
- You have advantage on saving throws against being poisoned, and you have resistance to poison damage.
- You are immune to disease.
- You don’t need to eat, drink, or breathe.
- You don't need to sleep and don't suffer the effects of exhaustion due to lack of rest, and magic can’t put you to sleep.
Telepathy: You can communicate telepathically with any creature that speaks a language within 60 feet of you.
Shard Step: As a bonus action, you can magically teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space you can see. Once you use this trait, you can't do so again until you finish a short or long rest. When you reach 3rd level, your Shard Step causes a swarm of crystals to spiral around you, causing enemies within 5 feat of you before you teleport to have disadvantage on their next attack until the start of your next turn.
Immortal Knowledge: You gain proficiency in Arcana.
