Architecture in Infusio

The houses of Infusio are simple and logical in design, most are single floors while those with multiple stories are reserved for large or wealthy families. Rooms that use water are placed near each other, such as kitchens and restrooms. An open-wall room at the back end of the house serves as a dining and entertainment room, with a fitted view of the owner's gardens. An entire section is reserved for bedrooms, which are separated with a reasonably thick stone wall, and the entrance to each bedroom can only be found on the outside of the building, making them resemble modern-day real-world motels. Bridged walkways connect are parts of the house and land and converge with a single point in the center of the gardens.   Houses and buildings along the coastline and docks themselves are supported by large beams and pillars of mixed materials rising from the ocean floor. Often times these houses are covered in sigils said to protect them from damaged caused by storms and constant water exposure. A 'basement' level built into the ground is also common for these places as they provide access to and from the sea level, also it offers a room to store supplies for fishers and merchants.   The further inland you move, the fewer wood structures show and more hints of stone can be seen. The ground becomes more stable, to the point, where it is not affected by waves or regular water exposure. So stone and other materials become more favorable to build reliable places of refuge for those who did live in areas that can easily become flooded by rising water levels or heavy rains.   In the market district of Infusio, multiple booths and businesses with a common theme are often held in a singular large building. These serve as a means of protection from the elements and provide more comfort to consumers making everything more connected with the community and easier to access.
