Importance of Magiviore

The Magiviore is a one-of-a-kind multipurpose tool/weapon mistakenly made by Cantionis. Void matter, also called Black matter, is a type of dark substance which has to be synthetically produced; even it production is successful, the resultant substance has always been unstable to the point where it self-destructs only seconds later.

NOTES FROM THE ORIGINAL MAGIVIORE ITEM

The whole existence of the Magiviore is a simple accident, and was far from intended to actually work. What started out as a simple childish experiment grew into this divine tool with pure luck and circumstance. When Cantionis was a child, now known as Mercia, she was fascinated by her mothers work in the field of magical weapons and tools and hoped to be able to do the same thing someday. As a result she woudl study the books left in her mothers workshop, she would constantly ask questions on certain techniques in black-smithing AND magic-smithing and even dared to interrupt her mother's work process to beg to become an apprentice. In order to keep her youngest child at bay while she worked, her mother allowed her to create a small and simple project for her under strict rules that no magic tools over the intermediate grade be used. This led to creation of the Magiviore, though at that point it was only thought to be a decorative piece. And because of such was put in a giant display cabinet under lock and key near the grand entrance of the smithing workshop. After the tragedy that fell about Mercia's family she had to leave and, even when she came back to the island many years later, she was unable to get inside without the family key. A necklace passed down to current living generations that allowed access to the estate, which was lost to the tragedy. It wasn't until another year or two later that, after the release of her imprisoned aunt, Mercia was finally able to return home and discover the Magiviore's glory. It was discovered that, when the container is separated, the void matter and gems combined to form a soft and vaguely slime-like black creature the size of your palm. It could grow and shapeshift, mimicking species and people along with their voices and attitudes. A truly useful tool for someone who's life goal was taking down those more powerful than oneself. Especially when that someone is an urban legend. Manufacturing process The process that created this is unknown, as it is the byproduct of a mistake which went lost for at least an entire decade, if not longer, and was only discovered to be the treasure it truly is. Significance Significant in both magical AND scientific fields of study, a feat to scholars and mages all over The void like creature that dwells within the container has a conscious and takes notes of everything that happens around it, including the years it was trapped all alone in the display cabinet. They can also speak but the voice is so low it prefers to use sign language as a means of communication. There is no gender for the creature, and it prefers to stay that way, using terms like they/them/there make it feel more grounded in the world. They also picked out a nickname to use, Viore, but only the people they have grown attached to is allowed to use it! NOTES FROM THE ORIGINAL MAGIVIORE WEAPON/TOOL ARTICLE

One of the many sides to the Magiviore, this side focuses on survival tools and weapons to be used in the moment and improvised. It is meant to be carried as a simple belt until needed for use, the way this works is that the void like entity within the Magiviore is released prior to a mission or impromptu situation. The entity, Viore, then slips around the waist of its user, (primarily Mercia), and camouflages itself to look like an ordinary black leather belt. When called upon the belt liquefies and changes into whatever weapon or tool the user needs. Mental images and thoughts are what guide the Magiviore to change it's shape and, thus, it's purpose. When needing get to a high place the typical tool of choice would be a grappling hook, which is nothing more than the whip with a hook on the end. In a pinch it can turn into various styles of knives, and on special occasions even a dagger (Think along the lines of the folding sword from Dishonored). When it comes to 'actual' tools the Magiviore can turn into, it really depends on the sense of urgency and determination rather than mental images and thoughts like it is for weapon based forms. The more anxious one is to pick a lock the more likely they will be handed tools to get rid of the lock altogether, rather than a simple key or lock picking tools. If the situation revolves around destroying cargo the forms it could take on goes anywhere from flammables to explosives to disintegrating magic items. Another thing to note is that, in especially social scenarios, it is not always immediately obvious as to how the Magiviore's chosen shape will help as it an entity with a mind of its own. The Magiviore itself assess what is happening around it, including reading facial cues and body language to help reach a conclusion on possible outcomes for a single decision. Meaning that if the user is blending in a social gathering to get information on targets and needs to be careful, then the Magiviore can give a 'signal' directing the user on how to lead the conversation or movements. Signals can be anything from a gentle thump meaning keep moving forward, to a slight shock meaning to stop or change subjects. SOMETHING ABOUT BLACK MATTER

Originally the magiviore was thought to be just a container of anti-matter. But when it broke an manifested into a humanoid creature, Mercia knew instantly how she could use this. In times of great need she will break the container, setting viore free, and allow viore to attach itself to her body. This create a very resilient body armor, allowing Mercia to directly attack and disarm enemies.

Utility

The Magiviore is a metaphysical piece of technology that is naturally in a liquid-like state, but when pressure is applied can be shaped to a solid form which is what makes it great as a multipurpose tool. Cantionis uses the Magiviore as a number of tools and weapons that includes: lock-pick, grappling hook, lock-and-key, a whip, balance beads, small range communication devices, EMPs, and the occasional daggers.

Inventor(s)

Cantionis created the Magiviore in an experiment as a kid that was based on her mother's own research notes regarding a black matter substance.

Access & Availability

The only real person with full access to the information regarding Void Matter as stable technology is Cantionis, and even then she is unable to fully understand how the matter stabilized because she wasn't there for the 20 years it incubated. However, the experimental procedure and notes have been freely published to the public for all to study and use as they wish.

Discovery

The Magiviore had an incubation of nearly 20 years before it was discovered by the very person who created it, this is because shortly after it was made the creator had left the estate in which it was placed, and wasn't able to return until those so many years later.
